I am in love with these dishes!! I am definitely going to buy some. All of the designs are so pretty :)


Today I was itching to spend some of my paycheck, but I knew I am supposed to be saving my money for our apartment. So, I compromised -- I spent money on stuff FOR it!!

I went over to Target and looked through all of their kitchen things (why the kitchen? I have no idea...) and I wanted to buy it all! For some reason, the idea of having my very own kitchen makes me happy. I don't even know why. Here at my parents house, I don't cook much unless it requires a microwave. I am hoping to change that, eventually.


I bought: two porcelain-ish blue bowls that are good for soup or cereal (which we eat a lot), four matching plates, and a silverware set. It was all for $40, which I thought was a really good deal!!

fluffy white clouds... er, blankets!

I love the look of a room with fluffy white cloud-like blankets. I want to decorate our bedroom with a beautiful, crisp white duvet, and small colorful accents. Probably things in shades of purple (sorry, Cade!!) because that is my favorite color, haha. I am always pleasantly surprised by Sweet Home Style's blog on tumblr. The photos are amazing inspiration for interior decorating.

Since this will be my first time having my own place, I am so completely thrilled and overwhelmed with the thought of decorating my house. I am inspired by so many different things, and I can't wait to see what I can come up with. Here are a few beautiful things I am in love with:

I like the look of mismatched furniture, colorful patterns and different types of wood. I can't wait to start shopping for everything for our little place :)

Okay, so I haven't exactly moved to Louisiana yet. Let's be honest here. But I am excited. And I wanted to have a place where I could put down all my thoughts about this huge change in my life.

But first -- here's a little more information about me...



My name is Emilie, and I am from Philadelphia (well, the suburbs just outside of it). I'm 19 years old, and I'm going to school to be a dental assistant. I never pictured myself being a dental assistant, but that is the path my life is taking right now. My life is taking a lot of paths I never expected, actually. Usually I am afraid of change, but I am trying to embrace life as it comes at me and take it all with a smile on my face.


When I complete my classes in January of 2010, I will be moving way down south to be with my boyfriend, Cade, whom I have been with for about 5 years now. This past summer he was living at my house, and had been planning on attending school here, but because of a family emergency (and the fact that he couldn't find a school loan here) he has recently moved back home.



After the time we spent together, we are more certain than ever that we are meant to be together. We plan on having our own apartment (our first), getting married (as soon as possible), and starting our lives together at last. This is where I will post all of my thoughts, ideas and dreams about our lives together.
