I wanted to ask advice from any of my blog buddies who have lived in an apartment.
Our next-door neighbors are LOUD. It didn't get on my nerves that much when I first got here because I could usually ignore them. Now, it's starting to get to a point where I consider saying something to them. The husband is kind of creepy, and he scares me, so I don't want to talk to him. I'm not sure about the wife, because I never see her-- I only hear her. They have 3 kids (that I have seen) who are all at least 10 years old, but they are constantly running back and forth, banging on the walls, screaming and throwing things. I knocked back on the wall at them once and they seemed to shut up for a while, but it always kicks up again. Last night the kids were up screaming until like 1am when I could go to sleep.
I don't really want to say anything to them because I don't want to create an awkward situation. Should I leave an anonymous note on their door or something? I really feel bad for whoever lives below them. I should be grateful!!!
So, any ideas? :)

you could always talk to the management office, they will usually talk to them for you!

talk to the management! neighbors are the worst part of apartment living. they can make for a miserable experience. i still have yet to have a neighbor i actually like lol
ReplyDeleteDefinitely notify the leasing office and inform them about the repetitive situation. They are most likely compromising their lease contract because most leasing agreements have a section on disturbing the peace of the community. Let them handle it so you don't have to be the bad guy!
ReplyDeleteIf talking to the management office doesnt work I would suggest the anonymous note. That way there is no awkwardness if you were to confront directly. Hope everything settles down so you can get some sleep!!!

I would definitely talk to management for sure! That is what they are there for :) Your neighbors should be more courteous to other people in the complex! I used to have a problem with the people below me! They would throw parties all through the week until like 4 am, so I would bang my foot on the floor lol, I was just in the beginning stage of my pregnancy so I was not a happy camper! Good luck, hope it gets taken care of! <3 Sonja
ReplyDeleteYou know. I have no idea. I guess talk to the leasing office. I have a downstairs neighbor right now that's SUPER loud! He puts his music on all day-night so loud that my next door neighbor hears it and we both can feel the vibrations..and when you're standing from the outside..it sounds like he's providing music for the whole apartment complex. Does it annoy me? Yes! but.....We had the downstairs neighbor from hell before...who would bang on our floor if we WALKED!! there was a point I was tippy toeing around the house!! We couldn't do anything!!! they even sent security one day when we weren't even home, my mom had sent a lady to clean and they came complaining that she was making too much noise....soo...for now..I'm way happier with my loud neighbor then my old "I can't even live in my own apt" neighbors. It's a toughy.
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, same goes for my boyfriend's pad ._. I guess you'll just have to tell the management and they should definitely do soemthing about it
